Designers & store owners
We are Christine Makela and Huehueteotl Beltran, kindred spirits from different sides of the world, brought together by a shared passion for authenticity and beauty, nature and ancient cultures.
Christine is Finnish-American, born to first-generation parents in the Bay Area. She studied and performed ballet from the age of 6 to 23 and has shot photos since the age of ten. She is also a painter and self-trained chef.
Huehue was born in Valle de Bravo into the Otomi culture. He traveled around Mexico and Central America for several years, learning techniques from older, seasoned artesans in jewelry and leather production. He is also well-versed in the flora and fauna of Mexico, including how to heal with plant medicines. He has been selling his art on Puerto Vallarta's malecon for over 16 years.
